Dear TJHSAA Member:

Please mark your calendars for the following Alumni Association events: "SUMMER FEST," the TJHSAA GOLF TOURNAMENT, and the ALUMNI ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME INDUCTION. The Board hopes you will join other TJHS graduates for these special activities.  We hope you'll make plans to come!

Downs Clubhouse in Dallas.  Casual dress.  The party will begin at 6:00 p.m.   Come for the evening or just plan to drop by.

At 6:30 p.m. a special reception will be held in recognition of Jack Cannon, former choir director at TJ, and the $10,000 scholarship generously created in his honor by Brian Cree, Class of '76.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th

Course.  All alumni are invited to play.  Contact Rich Williams, TJ Class of '82, for more information. (rwilliams@axiaim.com)

TJHS Athletic Alumni Hall of Fame Induction - pre-game ceremony at Loos Stadium.  Contact Bryan West, TJ Class of '82, with nominations or for further information (windlakewest@sbcglobal.net).  Your suggestions will be forwarded to TJ's Athletic Director.

Association News:
The TJHSAA Scholarship Committee will award three scholarships to deserving TJ seniors at the May Senior Assembly - the Richard Stroud Scholarship ($500), the TJHSAA Scholarship ($500), and the newly created Jack Cannon Scholarship ($10,000).

The Association recently contributed $2,000 to help fund a student trip to Washington, D.C.  Twenty-one students heard a lecture and toured the Holocaust Museum.  They also visited several national monuments and historic sites.  This was the first trip to Washington for all the students and the first airplane ride for 20 of them.  Some of the students will report on the trip at the May TJHSAA board meeting.  All of the students will donate some time to the association by helping compile and enter data in the association's all-graduate database.

You will learn more of the Association's work in the newsletter which will accompany the "Summer Fest" invitation.

The Board thanks you again for your continued support of the Association's efforts to make a difference at Thomas Jefferson.  We hope you will mark your calendars for June 16th and September 28th and plan to attend.
